Seems that every ex-eastern-bloc country has its model, and this R4 is to YU what the Maluch, the Skoda, the Trabant and the Dacia were for others that you know well. My grandparents had one, and it was somehow the concurrent of the Citroën 2CV at that time. While the 2CV had a better road handling, the R4 was an incomparable SUV that even allowed going inside the fields and never get stuck ! For the story theirs made it to the top of Pic du Midi.
