For key remapping to work, PowerToys must be running in the background and Keyboard Manager must be enabled. To stop remapped keys, close PowerToys or disable Keyboard Manger in the PowerToys settings.
How do I enable or disable Alt Gr key on Windows 10 keyboard
There is usually no option to disable the Alt Gr key on the keyboard but some workarounds are available. In this guide, we will show you how to remap the Alt Gr key to function as a normal Alt key on your keyboard. Do note that this guide is for the Windows operating system only.
To avoid this problem, use one of the following methods:Use the CTRL + ALT key combination instead of the ALT GR key to enter extended characters in theTerminal Services session.Configure Windows to stop using keyboard shortcuts for Terminal Services sessions. To do this, proceed as follows:Click Start, click Run, type mstsc.exe, then click OK.In the Connect to Remote Desktop dialog box, click Options, then click the Local Resources tab.In the Apply Windows key combinations list, click On the local computer. On the General tab, click Save As, enter a name in the File Name box, and then click Save. How to activate or deactivate Alt Gr?There is no way to disable this key. The default mode is enabled. However, depending on what you do with the Alt Gr key, workarounds are available.
Alt-Gr is supported on European MacBook and MacBook Pro keyboards. The Enter key next to the right Command key (otherwise known as the numeric pad Enter key) is remapped to Alt-Gr on Mac laptops. This is overridden when Num Lock is used to enable numeric keypad support.
I had the same problem but with PyCharm.Unfortunately none of the mentioned answers worked for me. I am on an MacBook using a German layout keyboard. The Problem for me was a changed default setting in the terminal settings. I had to disable "Use Option as Meta Key". On a German Keyboard many "special" characters like [],@, , etc. are alt(option) Key-Combinations. I think this is true for other european keyboards as well. (I know for the suisse and the danisch for sure)
If you do not need all of these customizations and you do not want to compile a new module manually or using dkms, there is an AUR package un-apple-keyboardAUR which does not rely on a new kernel module, but rather just to mappings. It enables the following features:

The term keyboard layout describes the physical layout of a keyboard, specifically, the number of keys and their positions on the keyboard. The keys are markedwith symbols which indicate their function. Graphic keys transmit codes thatmatch the graphic character symbol on the key cap, whereas keys such as theTab key transmit control codes. Modifier keys (Shift, Ctrl and Alt) change thebehavior of other keys. Function keys transmit multi-byte sequences of controland character data; local function keys enable local terminal functions (Forexample, Set-Up, and Print Screen).
The VT510 is designed to operate with either a VT keyboard or an enhanced PCkeyboard. These keyboards differ in the number and positioning of keys. Thisleads to different user expectations of where function and local function keysare positioned on the PC keyboard. For example, traditional VT keyboard usersexpect F2 and F3 to enable local functions for printing the screen and enteringSet-Up. Traditional PC keyboard users expect that these same keys will sendsignals to the host to control the application. These keyboard layouts are calledVT style and PC style layouts. The PC style layout is the factory default. 2ff7e9595c
